LIVES Wing Walk

My Story

Some other fundraisers and I are going to climb atop Boeing Stearman areoplanes and be flown up to an altitude of 700ft at speeds of up to 120mph! We're raising money for LIVES for which I am a Community First Responder.

LIVES is a unique Lincolnshire charity which recruits and trains Community First Responders to attend 999 medical emergencies. Medics, including doctors, paramedics and nurses, also volunteer for LIVES to administer pre-hospital medical care. The charity needs to raise £1.4 million every year to ensure that volunteers can continue to be there for the residents of Lincolnshire when they need them the most. This is particularly important in the current climate. Ambulance wait times across Lincolnshire can be more than double the national average. LIVES supports the East Midlands Ambulance Service to respond to emergencies as quickly as possible. When someone is in cardiac arrest, every minute counts. Between 2019-2020, LIVES Responders were the first on scene 83% of the time and helped 12,612 patients, including 637 cardiac arrests, 891 road traffic collisions, and 1,856 breathing difficulties. For the last 51 years, LIVES volunteers have been the difference between life and death for hundreds of people across Lincolnshire.

The wing walk will take place on Monday 29th August (weather permitting). The charity and I will be extremely grateful for any support you can provide. It will be very much appreciated. #ittakesateamtosavealife
